QUIZ! Which class are these celebrities, according to the British public?

Find out whether you view the social class of 25 famous figures in the same way as other voters.

By Giacomo Boscaini-Gilroy and Anoosh Chakelian

The British public’s understanding of class has always been complicated – and younger generations are making it more so. The New Statesman has uncovered new attitudes towards social class among members of Generation Z and Millennials that differ dramatically from that of their older counterparts.

This is particularly stark when it comes to celebrities. Marcus Rashford, who has spoken publicly when campaigning for free school meals about his own deprived childhood, is seen as “upper class” by a majority of younger voters and “working class” by a majority of older voters, for example.

The New Statesman data team has turned our celebrity class attitude polling results, gathered exclusively for the New Statesman by Redfield & Wilton Strategies, into a quiz. Take it below to find out what class the British public believes 25 celebrities belong to – and whether you have the same view.
